The Oxford Hills Technical School in South Paris, Maine, continues to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that go far beyond the classroom. Programs like DECA and Diversified Occupations give students the chance to gain real-world experience, build practical skills, and explore potential career paths before they even graduate.
Over the years, our team at Wheelers Insurance has had the privilege of working alongside several talented DECA interns from OHTS. These students have collaborated with us on marketing initiatives, bringing fresh ideas, creativity, and a strong work ethic that made a lasting impact on our agency.

This year, we had the opportunity to partner with Heidi Bigelow’s Diversified Occupations class, and the results were nothing short of incredible.
The students took on a hands-on project to create custom cornhole boards for an upcoming local fundraiser, and they absolutely delivered. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in their work truly stood out. Projects like this do more than just produce something tangible… they help students build confidence, teamwork, and skills that will serve them well in any future career.
We are incredibly grateful to Heidi, Jay, and all of the students who dedicated their time and effort to this project.
