Supporting Students at the Maine DECA Conference
Last month, members of the Wheelers Insurance team had the opportunity to participate in the Maine DECA Conference, where high school students from across the state showcase their skills in business, marketing, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
DECA provides students with real-world experiences that help prepare them for careers in industries like business management, marketing, and insurance.
We were honored to be part of the event and to support students as they learn to present ideas, solve business challenges, and think strategically about their futures. Watching these students compete and collaborate reminds us just how bright the future of Maine’s workforce truly is.
Partnering with Oxford Hills Technical School
Our involvement with the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Technical School (OHCHS Tech School) is another way we stay connected with local students who are preparing for careers in business and skilled trades.
The technical school provides hands-on learning opportunities that help students gain practical experience before entering the workforce or continuing their education. Programs like these are incredibly important to communities like South Paris, Norway, and the greater Oxford Hills region.
