2024 Oxford Hills Business of the Year
We are beyond proud to share that we recently received an award from the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, introduced to us by the wonderful Danielle from Twin Town Homes, Inc. It was a night to remember, filled with celebration, joy, and shared stories of incredible community contributions.
Honoring Our Neighbors
David & Ollie – We’re incredibly proud to be your neighbors. Hearing your heartfelt speech was a joy. Ollie is more than just your companion; he’s your best friend, and as dog lovers ourselves, we deeply understand that bond. Your presence and connection make this community shine. Congratulations!
Monica – What an honor it is to know you, work with you, and support your remarkable efforts. From Bearfoot Realty to Bear With Me, you’ve done so much for the Oxford Hills community. Raising over $100,000 for Christmas for Kids/Teens and your involvement with OH Athletics shows your commitment to uplifting others. We’re always cheering for you!
Kari – Your speech about recovery was not only powerful but truly inspiring. The work you do with the Western Maine Addiction Recovery Initiative (WMARI) is making a real difference, and we can’t wait to see the next chapter of your journey. For those who want to stay updated on Kari’s work, be sure to follow WMARI on Facebook. You’re a beacon of hope and passion in this important cause.
Sawin – Congratulations on receiving the Legacy Award! Your lifetime of incredible achievements is a testament to your hard work and dedication. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and for the Oxford Hills community. Your impact will continue to ripple for generations.
Celebrating 160 Years in Oxford Hills
This award comes at a special time for us. We’re celebrating 160 years in Oxford Hills and 5 years as an employee-owned co-op. The last five years, in particular, have transformed our agency in exciting ways. By becoming employee-owned, we’ve strengthened our community connection and enhanced how we serve and protect what matters most to you.
Each of us at Wheelers brings a unique blend of personality, perspective, and passion to the work we do—and it shows, not only in the insurance services we offer but also in our commitment to giving back to our community.
Making an Impact, Together
In the past few years, we’ve been honored to partner with incredible local initiatives and programs:
- Partnering with Stars and Strikes, we gathered over 30 businesses to raise more than $15,000 for Cents for Kids, a SAD17 program originally funded by teachers.
- Through Make A Wish Maine, we were able to grant a wish to a child, a moment we will always cherish.
- We’ve raised and donated over $15,000 for Team Hailey Hugs, a nonprofit supporting childhood cancer initiatives.
- We launched a fundraiser for SAD44 to ensure that all children in the area have access to essential items they may need.
- Our Referral Rewards Program has supported dozens of nonprofits throughout the years.
Additionally, our employees are given paid volunteer time to get hands-on in the community, working with organizations like Mission Working Dogs, Pink Feather Foundation, local gardens, blood drives, DECA Craft Fair, animal shelters, and schools like SAD17 and SAD44. We truly believe in rolling up our sleeves and being part of the change we want to see.
At Wheelers Insurance, it’s more than just protecting what matters most to you. It’s about giving back, creating positive change, and growing alongside our community. We are deeply honored to have received this award, and we remain dedicated to doing the good work that defines who we are—now and for generations to come.
